Geogebra

Hi!

I'm a sixth-year PhD student in pure mathematics at the University of Illinois at Chicago, advised by Wouter Van Limbeek. I will be on the postdoc job market in Fall 2024!

Research

I'm currently interested in Hilbert geometries, divisible convex sets, and related areas. My thesis involves the boundaries of divisible convex sets and their p-uniform convexity.

Conferences and Workshops

Here is a list of places you may have seen me before (note: I may have had pink hair at the time!)

(Upcoming) August 16-18, 2024: I plan to attend the Buckeye Metric Geometry Workshop at the Ohio State University.

May 29 - June 2, 2023: Groups and Dynamics in Geometry in honor of Ursula Hamenstädt in Ascona, Switzerland

May 15-19, 2023: Dynamics, Rigidity and Arithmetic in Hyperbolic Geometry at ICERM

April 1, 2023: Chicago Action Now aka Dynamics Day at UIC

Teaching

Since 2022, I have been a lead instructor for UIC's Young Scholars Program. I also run a Math Circle at Gads Hill Community Center in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood through Math Circles of Chicago (MC2).

Here is a list of previous courses I've taught at UIC:

MATH 294 Abstract Algebra (Instructor of Record)

MATH 211 Calculus III Emerging Scholars Program Workshop (Instructor of Record)

MATH 210 Calculus III

MATH 181 Calculus II

MATH 110 College Algebra

MATH 090 Intermediate Algebra (Instructor of Record)

For Fun

Geogebra Demos:

The locus of harmonic conjugates of a point in an ellipse is a straight line

Computing and visualizing the midpoint of a line segment in the Hilbert metric

Drawing a unit ball of the Hilbert metric in an ellipse

Photography: You can find some past photography projects of mine here

Miscellanous hobbies: I dance salsa, mambo, bachata, and cha cha, and am currently training as an apprentice with Latin Rhythms Dance Company in Chicago. When I'm not doing math and not dancing I also like skiing and playing drums. Ask me about music!
